Kelly Zadow

Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Provider in the state of Virginia and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. She received a B.A. in Biology and Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1992, and earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and Development from George Mason University in 2008. In between degrees, Kelly was a Biology teacher, as well as a Special Education teacher who always wanted to work individually and with families. She received post graduate training in the area of addiction, dual diagnosis treatment, and clinical supervision.
Kelly has worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations including: home based services with at-risk juveniles, outpatient addiction treatment programs with adolescents, young adults and adults, outpatient hospital addiction programs, acute care/crisis detox programs, court ordered client in recovery programs, residential placements, as well as vocational programs for clients with intellectual disabilities. Her foundation includes adolescent, young adult and adult dually-diagnosed populations.
Kelly’s counseling career began in 2008 working for National Counseling Group, Inc. (NCG). She gained experience with adolescents, young adults, and adults struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health challenges. She has also been part of multi-disciplinary teams alongside educators, probation officers, social workers and parents to create structure and improve the well-being of school-aged youth, cognitively-challenged youth and adults, as well as individuals with legal involvement due to substance abuse and mental health challenges.
Kelly has worked in a telehealth setting since 2020 – at the start of the COVID-19 global pandemic. She continues to see clients significantly impacted by global current events. She began her private practice in 2024 and sees clients via telehealth in Virginia; and plans to begin face to face services in North Carolina.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her Army veteran husband, two active boys, family, and Molly & Luna – her personal therapy pups!
